Paris (France)
Tianducheng was built on the model of Paris with a 354-meter replica of the Eiffel Tower. The city was opened with a great pomp in 2007, but it was not settled and now it is a ghost town. The most common reported reason for this is apparently the unfavorable location. Overgrown gardens, including the area under the famous tower, were taken over by a few residents to grow vegetables.
As explained by Lu Xiaotian, the director of the company that built the city, the Chinese like to surround themselves with French brands and wines, and Paris is a very popular place for honeymoon honeymooners. So why not move the city of lovers to China?
