3. Concrete house by the lake Maggiore, Switzerland
This monolithic, concrete house on Lake Maggiore in Brissago is located in a beautiful mountain landscape. It was designed by architects from the Italian studio Wespi de Meuron Romeo Architects. The house is solid but intimate, open but full of small alleys. Architects have planned construction on the mountains, and the house has several levels. The color of the concrete resembles natural rocks in the vicinity, which is why it is not easy to notice it.
Due to the complex relationship between the interior and the surroundings, paths and nooks – a walk around the house may resemble walking in a historical village – architects say about their project.
