2. Casa Rural in La Garrocha, Spain
Casa Rural is an award-winning project of RCR Architectos studio from Spain (Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta). The house is located on a large meadow near the Spanish town of Girona. The architects planned the construction on a natural embankment. The rusted steel block merges with the brown soil of the hill. From the north, the house seems to float above the ground. Individual elements of the building are trained – they allow you to enjoy the panoramic view of the area. The facade from the south is almost not visible, hidden in a meadow. The architecture impresses with its originality and restraint.
