Amaizning architecture: 360-degrees, transparent infinity pool on the roof of scy scraper

Next year, a unique skyscraper will be build in the center of London. A huge infinity swimming pool with a 360-degree panoramic view of the city will be placed on its roof.

Infinity pool is a special type of pool. It is designed in such a way that its edge is not visible – it is supposed to give the impression that the water melts on the horizon. For several years, ifninity pools have enjoyed great popularity. They attract crowds of customers to luxury and very expensive hotels. It is a breathtaking view, which is why these pools are increasingly being built on the roofs of buildings. However, the one that will be built in central London will be unique. Its users will be able to see the 360-degree panorama of the capital of Great Britain.

According to the Compass Pools project, the pool will hold 600,000 liters of water. It is to be placed on the roof of a 55-story building called Infinity London. Designers say it is the first such concept in the world. However, this is not all. The pool will be made of cast acrylic, so it will have transparent sides and floors – guests of the five-star hotel will be able to see swimmers bathering over them.

To keep the view spotless, no ordinary stairs leading from the outside of the pool or building are provided in the pool. Instead, a spiral staircase will be built, which rotates and ascends and emerges from the water. The solution is based on a mechanism similar to that of a submarine. The stairs rise from the pool floor when someone wants to come in or go down. Pool designers admit that this part of the project was the most demanding for them.

The pool will also be equipped with special sensors monitoring the wind speed. This in combination with a computer building management system will ensure that water will never spill out of the building, splashing passers-by on the street.

Work on the construction of a skyscraper is expected to start next year, provided investors accept its final project.
